Climate-Informed will have a limited budget set for travel grant support each year. A PhD member in our research school can apply for a travel grant to attend a PhD course, workshop, summer school or other training activity that is NOT organised by Climate-Informed but aligns with our research school’s thematic focus. Travel cost to take up an internship within Norway is also supported.
Climate-Informed will grant up to 5000 NOK to cover national travel or 10 000 NOK for international travel expenses per PhD student in a calendar year.
Application must fulfil the following requirements:
- Application must be sent in at least 45 days before the training takes place for national travel and 60 days for international travel.
- An applicant must agree to write a short blog post within 2 weeks after the completion of the training activity. The blog will be posted on Climate-Informed website.
- Apply for the grant using our Climate-Informed travel grant application form.
- Application must include:
– A link to the website for the course/summer school description.
– A letter of recommendation from your supervisor.
– A confirmation of acceptance from the course or summer school organisers (if available).
– The estimated dates for the travel (departure and return).
Important notes:
- An application processing time will normally be 2 weeks. Applicant will be notified as soon as a decision is made by the Climate-Informed Executive Board.
- Climate-Informed will only reimburse documented costs AFTER the student has completed the training activity.
- A certificate of attendance or similar should be attached to the travel claim.
- When the total travel grant budget per calendar year is used up, no more grant application will be accepted in that year.
